28.02.20 : Ramiro Aguirre y su Charanga – Amor

Good day dear blog readers, listeners, followers ¡y todos los amantes de la musica Cubana!

Today we shall be enjoying a Son Montuno with Danzon vibes, performed by Ramiro Aguirre y su Charanga.

Ramiro, a talented singer and percussionist, is the son Eduardo Ramiro, flutist and musical director of Orquesta Tipica Tropical, a charanga tipica orchestra from los angeles, USA, active since the 1970s.

Aguirro jr.’s band has been playing all over the country for many years, playing along side Celia Cruz, Rey Ruiz, Hansel & Raul, and many others.

The composition we have today is an elegant and vibrant mix of Son Montuno and elements of Danzon.

So, here it is!
And Always remember… ¡Sigue disfrutando la musica Cubana!

14.02.20 : Armando Quintana y la Expresividad – Si Tu No Sabes No Te Metas

Good day dear blog readers, listeners, followers ¡y todos los amantes de la musica Cubana!

Today we shall be enjoying a composition authored by Jose Luis Cortes and originally performed by NG La Banda during some of their concerts, but never making it into an official publication.

Considering this, the track was quite successfully covered by Cuban-Colombian group called Armando Quintana y la Expresividad (do you recognize the origins of that name? )) ), led by Cuban trombonist Armando Quintana, performing since 1998.

The group did a great job both conserving the original Timba style on NG, and adding their own spark into the mix…

So, here it is!

And always remember… ¡sigue disfrutando la musica Cubana!
